Conversations overheard in Turnberry Love this week...

H: Um... so... I hate those valences.
W: Yeah, me too actually.
H: Why did we buy them?
W: I think they went with the paint.

Oh, yup, definitely just went with the paint.  Looks like we might be going back to the drawing board... or fabric shop... on those!

H: So, what do you think about moving?
W: *silent stare of daggers*
H: I'd just like to have a garage and a place to store stuff.
W: So I have more to clean and you have a place to keep more stuff I'll have to throw away?  Nope.

My housewarming gift...

My aunt Martha sent me a housewarming gift of this awesome scraper enclosed in a mitt so you don't get a chilly hand when scraping the car.  WELL.  Last weekend, I was bragging about how I had barely had to use it this winter.  I got to use it every morning this week.  Then, tonight, it started sleeting and snowing.  While it sure was handy, this was not what I was expecting!

So, a quick update.  We spent a good deal of the weekend working on cleaning out Grandma's.  Saturday, we went to see my BFF and meet her little guy.  Totally not enough baby snuggle time for me, but it was so good to see that little family!!!

Saturday night, I started a little re-decorating again.  I think I spent like 2 hours or more hours moving things around  I'm sure you'll be able to spot all the differences...

Sadly, you can't see the pottery bowl on the second shelf really...

What looks different?  Mostly the bottom shelves - I put up some of our albums.  However, I moved all our pictures all around!

Walking into the great room, re-did the sofa table.  Again.  Oh, and I can admire my drapes one more time!

So, these shelves are missing their glass doors still.  Trying to figure out where exactly to paint those doors now that our old dining room table/work station is gone,  Also, the bowl on the bottom and the white platter on top need stands, which we haven't gotten yet.

Anyway, work is calling my name... G'night!

Best grouting tool? A hubby. Best drape hanging tool? A hubby, of course.

Another busy weekend following a crazy busy week!  Wednesday night, I launched into grouting the kitchen backsplash.  I had done a crazy workout that morning, so hubby took pity on my slow progress and took over.  He did the rest of the kitchen in the time it took me to do like 3 or 4 feet (of course that resulted in 2 hours of cleaning up grout splatter the next day, but I digress).  We cleaned the backsplash that night and then I did it again in the morning... and again this weekend... and will have to do it again before I can seal it... but we can pretend it is done =)

What do you think?  I think hubby will never again agree to these tiny little tiles again and I miss my mini-float.  I"m going to have to purchase another one before we get into the bathrooms.

I worked on the side panels for our great room window treatment Friday night and Sunday morning, and we JUST finished putting up our draperies.  It was excellent teamwork, if I do say so myself.

I even had enough fabric left over to cover a pillow, which we think "helps soften all the leather" in the room - hehe.

So, you remember our new beautiful table, of course... and the decision we were trying to make about the china cabinet?

drumroll please...

This week, we had our new china cabinet delivered!!!  Hubby went to Lexington to check it out again and purchase it.  It came Thursday, and by the time I made it home, it was filled with china and he was smiling like the Cheshire cat!  It is beautiful, and we feel so special having a real dining room!  We have had two dinners with fabulous guests already and are looking forward to LOTS more. For now, though, I gotta get back to work... or bed.  Bed is looking more enticing after all this weekend work!

And, as a result, I'm giving the down-and-dirty of the weekend.  Saturday, hit up Ikea for these picture frames (the rest of the pictures were purchased at 4x6 and we needed 5x7s..It was the end of a long day - new ones are waiting for us at Costco):

We also hit up Home Goods and found some awesome pillows to finish off the couch - $6.99 each!!!

As i was photographing the couch, there was a yip at my feet.  When asked if he wanted his picture taken, this is what Winston did:

I guess that was a yes!

This past week was insanely busy, so the grouting did not happen in the kitchen.  BUT, we did manage to move the old dining room table out of the dining room after our new table was delivered!  I think it looks awesome!

Saturday, we also stopped in Lexington and found 2 options for a china cabinet.  With votes split 50/50, we're leaning toward one... but I'll leave you in suspense until we make the final decision and get it delivered!

OK, 5am is gonna come way too fast, and tomorrow promises to be a super-busy and long day, so g'nite my lovelies!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend, too!
