At Grandma's table

So, no one wanted to use Grandma's dining table.  Lots of memories there, sitting to Grandma's right, Snick looking hopefully up at me as I looked across the table at my future husband... holiday meals shared, where we'd all laugh as those across the table from Snick would see just her ears flap up as she jumped up in aspiration of getting a scrap... sitting next to Grandma, having to tell her we were going to see Snick for the last time...  helping Grandma up the stairs to join us at the table (or, better yet, being shocked when she just showed up, determined to get up those stairs on her own)... yes, lots of memories.  How to keep the tradition of memories around that table going?  Clearly, you cut it in half-ish.  Hubby decided to cut the table into half tables that will be installed as buffets in the dining room.  So, first, there was the measuring and taping...

And then the sawing, where I got to be his clamp!  This resulted in half-table success...

But, the wood didn't really fit us or the room, so we discussed painting them.  He suggested silver and gold, I thought a little black to echo the dining room table might be nice.  So, he got to painting...
