A little R&R... and some fabric excitement!

Have I mentioned how much I love Story People???  It seemed so perfect that this was my story of the day on our anniversary!

We've been on a little vacation, and I must say, a. I want to go back and b. I feel so rested and ready to go!!!

Lucky you, I was up with the sun a couple of mornings...

And we ate all kinds of awesome food (and we did OK remembering to take pictures before devouring it...)...

AND we found a $7.99/yd fabric place in Wilmington.  Designing heaven.

I turned the corner, and hubby already had the fabric pulled out.  I was dramatic; I gasped.  It was metallic.  It was striped.  And it was $30/yd cheaper than the last one I loved.  I was sold.  Dining room curtains, here we come!

26 September 2009

In the comfort of that little chapel, stuffed to the windows with love and emotion, and safe from the pouring rain...

I, Alexis, took you, Travis, to be my husband,

my constant friend,

my faithful partner (OMG, now I know why we love the half-tables you made in the dining room!)

and my love

from 26 September 2009 forward.

In the presence of God, our family and friends, I offered you my solemn vow to be true to you in sickness and in health,

in good times and in bad,

and in joy as well as sorrow.

I vowed to be honest, caring and truthful, to love you unconditionally, to honor and respect you, and to cherish you, growing old by your side as your love and best friend.

I continue to vow this to you every day before God,

and here, four years later, I offer this solemn vow again in a space that has grown to catalog not only our house renovation adventures but also the good times and bad, the joy and the sorrow that have strengthened our love as we grow old by one another's side.

Happy Anniversary.  Let's go find some (gluten free) cake!

Two years later...

I'm late with this one, but we've been a little busy... so here it goes!

This overgrown courtyard...

Got accessorized and grassied all up...

And a year later, there's a smaller grill, an umbrella, and no grass!

...and today...

...a year ago, there was an "old person's door"...

...and today, it's open and happy and young!

Moving in to the kitchen.  We started with this view...

And updated majorly to this...

...and then did some more moving around to this...

Looking in from the dining room, we started with this...

...and updated to this...

...and a year later...

The once wallpapered dining room first looked like this...

...got upgraded to this...

...and has had some updating to look like this...

Meanwhile, the front entry went from...

...to...

...to this...

and the hallway has changed a bit in the last year - the artwork anyway -

to...

Moving into the great room, the wall o' shelves has changed a bit, from this last year...

...to this this year...

and my baby grand moved, from one corner...

...to another!

And so, the great room went from...

...to...

...to this!

The front bedroom morphed from green peacocks...

To yellow and blue French country!

And, while the room has been rearranged, it hasn't changed that much this year.

The guest room went from...

...to...

...to the guestroom and MY office!

And that Jack and Jill bathroom?  Yeah, it's changed too, from...

to...

And of course, the master has been repainted and furniture has been added... so we start with this...

...to this...

...to this!

Sorry about the crummy lighting.  I couldn't find my real camera and didn't have time to edit the pictures for the best representation.  But, it's getting there.  We still have a lot of projects to tackle, and we're excited to look forward to another year at Turnberry Love.
